How it works

We detect encoding first, then find a stable delimiter, then parse rows strictly.

The report stops at the first error that prevents a clean import.

CSV import error types

Invalid delimiter

Different separators are used across rows (comma vs. semicolon).

Mixed delimiters shift column boundaries and break parsing.

Invalid quote

Quoted fields are not closed or contain quotes in unquoted data.

This is common in multiline comments or text with quotes.

Invalid UTF-8 encoding

The file is UTF-16, Windows-1252, or UTF-8 with BOM.

Convert to UTF-8 without BOM for strict importers.
